My mum has young onset dementia. The progression has been quick — within 3 years she got her diagnosis & is now immobile & in a specialist dementia home.
Dad had to take on the bills, the running of their home, & caring for her, all whilst trying to understand dementia & what was happening.
This man has never once complained. He's been there for me, my sister & his grandkids, all whilst having his world turned upside down.
After working all their lives, him & my mum should be enjoying retirement together now, seeing the world.
He is an absolute strength & deserves all the recognition in the world for how he's coped/coping.” ♥
